Just estimate, how many roses you'll need for covering 2 square meters of one's bed with petals, then multiply it by the average price for a rose in winter and think about all these useful or pretty things you can buy for that big sum :D

Rose petals are so soft and tender, and they even retain their sweet pleasant smell when dried... it's a good St. Valentine Day idea :)
