Every day many tons of non-recyclable industrial garbage and liquid waste are produced and discharged in each of many thousands of big cities of the world, then transported beyond the city line and stored at vast dump areas.
Usually these dumps are not easy to locate, because the city authorities try to conceal such a shocking information from environmental organizations. Sometimes all this non-biodegradable waste is even buried or guarded within an ever-expanding perimeter.
In the countries where enough attention and money are paid to environmental issues all that waste is throughly sorted to different categories and optimally disposed so that it occupies minimal area; as for liquid waste, it's filtered and detoxicated before being emitted back into rivers, seas, lakes and subsoil waters.
