things were brought about due to changes, changes I made willingly or not.. The changes I made willfully taught me lessons.. The changes that were forced upon me also taught me hard lessons, not easily forgotten.. My grandmother used to say "a bought wit is the best one yet".. Until I got much older and wiser I never knew what she meant.. Here is a metaphor that might help with this backwoods saying: Stick your hand in a fire it burns, you learn not to do it again, (bought wit).. For some of us it is not quite that simple.. Such as doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome.. AIN'T HAPPENING!!
That's what I meant by lessons hard learned also.. I made alot of wrong choices in my life, some I made twice or even three times.. My family and friends just called me hard-headed..
