Recently, when I watched winter Olympic games, exactly speed skating, an idea appeared in my mind! It concerns modernization of skates! I think their speed can be increased by attaching track around the metal blade. The system would work just as at tanks, the skates would go with the help ot track moving. No doubt, the track itself should consist of minute links... Thus, since the blade will stay of the same width, sportsmen will be able also to move by common way, only where speed is needed, he/she would switch on the mechanism of track movement.
What do you guys, is it possible?
