Bacteria are the life forms always swarming all around us, staying unnoticed. They dwell everywhere, from the deepest sea cavities to stratosphere, from oil wells to animal and human organisms.
Being perfectly primitive, they can survive in any environment and feed on all kinds of substances - mineral as well as organic, their lifespan is so minute and their breeding is so intensive so bacteria generations change each other in shortest periods of time, that's why their specie evolution is so swift so they can easily adjust their metabolism to any new environments and substances.
My idea is carrying out artificial selection of many generations of bacteria aiming to develop new species of bacteria apt at digesting and decomposing non-biodegradatable substances like silicone, plastic, tin etc.
