To make a romantic light you have to take table or standard lamp and the piece of red, pink or purple material. Cover the abat-jour with material (use some pins to fasten it) and decorate it with flowers. Your lamp will be like a wonderful flowerpot!
Also you can put the small bunches of flowers all around the room and on the plates. I think your boyfriend will be surprised to see the flower room with romantic light!
