Summary of the idea/dream: My idea is inventing raised PC screens transmitting volume and texture in addition to shape and color.
I adore computer games, but they only bring plain visual and audial experience, this way never perceived truly realistic. My idea is adding the sense of touch to computer screens by using special magnetic liquid crystals that will take any shape, color and volume necessary, controlled by directed magnetic forces. These crystals are going to be covered with a strained flexible firm transparent plastic membrane.
It would be even cooler if such a raised screen were combined with a sensory function so that users could manipulate these volumetric shapes directly, skipping such non-3D manipulators as the mouse and keyboard.
PS: the screen depth would vary for different models, from cheap 2" to presigeous 20"
