The New Year is coming and all of us think how and where to celebrate it.

As for me, I would like very much to celebrate this New Year 2006 in China. First of all I have a friend living there, that's why to see her would be very pleasant for me… And secondly, New Year celebration in China differs from other countries.

Chinese New Year is celebrated between 17th and 19th of February, during new moon. New Year in China is strictly a family holiday, so every Chinese strives for spending it in a family circle.
The most interesting part of Chinese New Year is street procession. Thousands of lamps are lighted up to make way to New Year bright. Chinese people think that New Year is accompanied by presence of evil spirits, that's why they frighten them off by crackers and petards. Sometimes they even seal up windows and doors by paper not to keep spirits out.
Moreover, dishes they cook are also very unique…

That's why I am sure if I spent it in China, I would remember New Year
