You hear women all the time talking about how a man can
hurt them, destroy them, lower their self-esteem.. How often do we men speak of being hurt.. It's not manly to admit a woman gave you pain.. That you gave yourself fully to someone and they walked out on you.. As young men we are taught not to show pain or cry when we hurt.. Fortunately for me my dad (who was a drill sargeant in the Army) taught me it doesn't make you less of a man to cry when you hurt or when you are happy.. I am 47 y/o and until my last relationship had never truly felt the pain of a broken heart.. Granted the break up was mostly because of male pride and stupidity.. I just always knew this person would be here no matter what.. She's not.. For 5 months now we have talked neither of us really wanting to walk away.. We feel the small glitter of hope so, we try to make things get better.. When they don't, now we are both hurt..
