The basic principle of the therapy is a daily (4 times a day) use of fresh mare's milk and a drink of kumys at will. For instance, the ancient Kyrgyz people said that mare's milk being like maternal was essential for vitality and capacity for work in the mountain conditions. The works of some scientists proved that this kind of milk includes such components as lactose, fats, enzymes, mineral matters, proteins, vitamin B1, B12, C, riboflavin, acids and biotin.
Kumys is produced in many different societies where a horse plays a large part in the traditional way of life (Bashkiria, Kyrgyzstan, Tatarstan, Yakutia, Kazakhstan). However, this drink is widely known outside the countries mentioned above due to its salubrious and recovery qualities.
