Have you ever heard traditional Chinese music?
If you have you certainly know what pipa sounds like. It sounds something like a harp or a mandoline, enhanced with distinctive oriental vibration.
My idea is attaching electronic pick-ups to pipa for processing and amplifying its sound. I think it could be played even faster then an electronic guitar, plus it would sound truly special with celestial zoom pick-up.
