Have you heard about Heraldry? This is something that was exciting my mind since I have been a small girl. For those who haven't heard about that here is some data in brief.

To tell in brief.... heraldry is the science and art of describing of coats-of-arms, also referred to as achievements or armorial bearings. It had been created in the need to distinguish participants in battles or jousts and to describe the various devices they carried or painted on their shields. The noble families have been creating their own emblem that was telling about its roots, winnings and achievements, etc.

I think the Heraldry is a perfect way to keep your family information for your progeny. You can include the key information and pass it from generation to generation. That would keep the family commitment and your roots will never be forgotten.
