Flights as long as 1689 miles have been recorded by exceptional birds in competition pigeon racing. Their average flying speed is around 30 miles per hour, but they can achieve bursts of speed up to 60 mph.
So my idea: you buy 2 pigeons, and bring them home. When they get used to living in your house you can take them to your business trips. You can send your letters home using this pigeons. This way is unusual and maybe your girlfriend will like it.
