Summary of the idea/dream: Some useful tips..
I have some ideas how to cultivate a palm tree at your home.
First of all remember that all the palms have very long roots. Therefore if your palm is in a small flowerpot, you should transplant it in a large flowerpot.
Then you should prepare special soil: mix turf, black earth and sand (in all proportions 2:1:0,5). You should change soil ones in 3-4 years.
Water palms with warm water (2-3° Celsius degrees higher than room temperature). But it would be better if you washed your palm with rainwater, snow water or river water. Water your palm abundantly.
You should also use chemical fertilizers.
In the summer time spray your palm with warm water. Palms trees "can't stand" cold water and straight sun rays, cold air and draughts.
