Reticular formation is the Central Nervous System department responsible for distributing attention and sleep/awakening cycles. Its functioning makes us sleepy and absent-minded or vivacious and concentrated.
My idea is inventing a special remote conrol unit that would allow activating and deactivating it by emitting exciting or inhibiting electromagnetic impulses.
Using this device we could control our need for sleep and switch to full attention concentration regime when necessary.
