Once I watched an old Russian Christmas cartoon - "The Last Year's Snow Falling". It had a very weird plot and characters. Briefly, a wife sent her ne'er-do-well husband (Moujik) to the forest asking him to find and fell a fir-tree for the Christmas. He came to the forest, saw a wild hare sitting under a Christmas tree and started dreaming how he would sell it and become a Tzar, before he even caught it. Then the fairy-tale began. When dreaming about it he made so much noise so the hare fled, taking the Christmas tree away with it.
Moujik didn't loose his spirits and went on looking for a Christmas-tree, but all the Xmas trees were magically converted into oaks. He was looking all through the forest and came up to a magic-hut (Izba). It was stuffed with miraculous artifacts that made funny magical metamorphoses to Moujik, he even grew a tiger's tail.
